Former minister of justice and constitutional affairs Martha Karua has affirmed her position over 2022 presidential elections saying she will not support Deputy President William Ruto over the corruption scandals that he has faced.
The Narc Kenya party leader said the scandals that Ruto has been involved in either directly or indirectly were far too many for her to support him.

Speaking during interview at Citizen Tv on Wednesday, January 9, the former Gichugu MP was keen to clarify that she supported President Uhuru Kenyatta.
"Those are my personal views and there are many issues and some of them involve Chapter 6 of the constitution. The public issues and public scandals he (Ruto) has been involved in are just too much day by day!" said Karua.
The former lawmaker who unsuccessfully vied for presidency in 2013 said her decision to support reelection of Jubilee party in 2017 was one of the most difficult she made.

"To support them (Uhuru and Ruto) as a duo was a difficult decision. His choice of a deputy was his not mine," she added.
She further stated the DP was free to vie for the presidency and there were no constitutional constraints against his ambitions.
Karua who lost Kirinyaga's gubernatorial contest to incumbent Governor Anne Waiguru said she was in fully support of the handshake that has helped the country end animosity across the political divide.
